It's a week before school starts and I am getting ready for the new adventure. Last week i picked up my uniforms and received five sets of white chef's jackets, hats, black pants, towels and aprons. I got home from school, tried on the clothes and ended up walking around the house all day in my chef's outfit... It's going to be an amazing adventure so stay tuned, come back and visit me soon. First day is January 8th. I wonder what we'll be cooking then?...

Hi there! My name is Peleg Top. Welcome to my kitchen blog.
Recently I decided to fulfill a lifelong dream to become a certified chef. So I joined The Kitchen Academy in Hollywood and for the next 30 weeks I will be spending my mornings learning all the things I don’t know in the kitchen.
This blog is where I intend to document my cooking school experience. I hope you come back often and see how I’m doing. I promise to keep it a fun read. And please, feel free to leave a nice comment or two (and if you've got an interesting recipe to share, don’t be shy!).
I live in Los Angeles in a gorgeous neighborhood called Silverlake. For the past 16 years I have owned Top Design, a successful graphic design firm known for its work in the music industry, nonprofits and special events. We’ve been very blessed to work with some amazing clients and produce great work. Check out our site at Top Design.
So why cooking school you may ask? Well, I realized something about myself recently. I noticed that I am not spending enough time on doing the things I love the most. Don’t get me wrong, running a design studio and working in this field is a pretty cool thing to do for a living but at the end of the day, where my spirit soars and where creativity really flows for me is in the kitchen. I subscribe to probably every cooking magazine out there, I watch the food network every chance I can (favorite chef: Nigella Lawson) and when I need to relax, I bake. I think I’m a pretty good cook. I love throwing dinner parties and experimenting in the kitchen but I also realize that there is a lot that I don’t know. So, I enrolled myself in culinary school and for the next 30 weeks, I will be in school every day from 6am – 11am learning how to be the best chef that I can be.
